Drum roll, please! Season 11 of American Idol is underway, and as judge Steven Tyler put it, "Hold on...it's gonna be quite a ride!"
This is our very first year with auditions in Savannah, Georgia. Thousands of hopefuls lined up for their chance at a Golden Ticket, some even quitting their jobs for a once-in-a-lifetime chance at stardom. In fact, the season kicked off with 42 contestants earning a ticket to Hollywood - one of the best starts to the show ever!

Congratulations to Season 7's Brooke White and her husband, Dave Ray, on the announcement of their upcoming bundle of joy! In a post on her blog, Brookie Babble, Brooke revealed that her baby girl is due the end of May. Perhaps it will align with the American Idol Season 11 finale, or maybe she'll make her debut on Brooke's birthday, June 2nd. Either way, we wish Brooke all the best and know she'll be a marvelous mama!

Season 8 finalist Anoop Desaicelebrates his 25th birthday today! The North Carolina native had a successful run on American Idol, where the Wild Card round made him the first-ever 13th finalist. The college grad ended up making it all the way to sixth place. When Anoop auditioned for American Idol in 2008, he suggested the nickname "Anoop Dawg" to Randy Jackson, and the moniker has stuck with him since!
