Paris Bennett was only 17 years old as a contestant on Season 5 of American Idol. On Saturday, Paris celebrated her 22nd birthday. Even though she was one of the shows younger contestants, she excelled with songs by Gladys Knight & The Pips, Barbra Streisand, Peggy Lee, and more. Music runs in Paris family. Not only does her mom sing, but her grandmother is Ann Nesby, the former lead singer of the Sounds of Blackness.
After her time on Idol, Paris signed to her uncle's recordlabel, 306 Entertainment. In 2007, Paris released an album titled Princess P, which is the name that Ryan Seacrest gave her during her run on American Idol. In 2008, Paris released a holiday album, A Royal Christmas, which included standards and original tracks. Currently, Paris is working on her second studio album which she plans on releasing soon. This album won't be as R&B oriented as her previous album. Instead, it will have a classic jazz feel to it.
Earlier this year, Paris and her mother starred in a Minneapolis production of RENT. Shes currently performing at several shows and is a background vocals singer. Paris lets fans into her life through a series of videos she posts online.
