Season 2 finalist Julia DeMato celebrated her 31st birthday yesterday. The Connecticut cosmetologist entered the Idol scene with strong performances and a bit of conflict with fellow finalist Kimberly Caldwell during group night in Hollywood.
Julia sang in the first group of semifinalists on Season 2 and was the first female to advance to the finals due to her performance of Dusty Springfields Son of a Preacher Man. In the finals, Julia performed Where Did Our Love Go, What A Feeling, and Breathe. She fell into the bottom three contestants the first two weeks but escaped elimination long enough to make it to tenth place. Since she made it to the Top 10, Julia got to spend a few months touring around the nation with the rest of the Top 10.
Now days, Julia spends her time as a mother to her son James Peter.
Happy Birthday, Julia!
